THE ISLE PARK : for nature lovers, even in the city !
Locate this site..
Combining wild and domesticated nature, the Isle Marshes, located in the heart of Saint-Quentin, preserve the different species of this 48-hectare protected nature reserve.
The park features groves, a garden of medicinal plants, a little farm with domestic animals, picnic grounds, games for children, and several « houses », areas dedicated to educational work and exhibitions :
The Environment House, the Nature House the Marsh House.
This park also hosts a preservation center for wild animals, where injured or sick wild birds are provided with care.
There is a free guided tour of the edges of this natural reserve every first Sunday of the month at 10 a.m.
If you are interested come to the Environment House (La Maison de l'Environnement),on the avenue Léo Lagrange, at the entrance to the park (free parking).

Houses where you learn about nature :
The Environment House:
Featuring a permanent exhibition called "Renewable energies and the greenhouse effect", and temporary exhibitions with each season.
The Marsh House : Featuring a true nature workshop every Wednesday (for children 6 through 12 years old). When naturalists come to visit this House, the visitor can be a privileged witness of the wildlife of damp forests, and admire the arboretum, planted around a body of water.
The Nature House and the little farm : The Nature House presents animals in an educational way to school groups and clubs. As for the little farm, it is inhabited by pigeons of all species, farm animals, goats, ewes, lambs, peacocks, donkeys, ponies…
